Jakarta has no shortage of electronics sellers, but very few are genuinely set up to handle B2B commercial projects -- bulk quantities, tight installation timelines, multi-brand coordination, and after-sales support across dozens of units at once. Choosing the wrong partner early in a hotel, office, or hospital build-out can quietly cost weeks of delay and thousands of dollars in rework.
The first thing to check is whether the distributor is an authorized partner of the brands they sell, not a reseller sourcing from grey-market channels. Authorized distributors can offer manufacturer-backed warranties, genuine spare parts, and factory-trained service technicians -- none of which grey-market sellers can reliably guarantee.
Look at breadth versus depth. A distributor that only carries one product category (say, only air conditioning) forces your procurement team to manage five or six separate vendors for a single project -- air cooling, display, kitchen equipment, hotel amenities, each with its own quote, delivery schedule, and support line. A distributor covering multiple commercial categories under one roof simplifies procurement significantly and gives you a single point of accountability.
Ask about project experience, not just product catalogs. A supplier that has actually delivered air conditioning, TVs, and kitchen equipment for five-star hotels and corporate towers understands commercial specifications, lead times, and installation coordination in a way that a general electronics retailer never will.
Evaluate the after-sales structure before signing anything. Ask directly: What is the warranty claim process? How fast can spare parts be sourced locally? Is there a dedicated account contact, or will you be routed through a generic customer service line? These questions matter far more once the project is delivered and equipment has been running for a year.
